The Department of Neuroscience offers both an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deadline for application for both programs is February 1st. Prior to submitting an application, you must discuss potential supervision with least one researcher, as applications submitted without prior discussion are not likely to be considered<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applications received after February 1st will be considered, although availability for funding is not guaranteed after this date and there is a possibility that all supervisors have already accepted the maximum number of students into their lab. Please note this program does not have a winter semester admission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Influence of the prenatal environment on well-being: pathways and mechanisms, taught by Dr. Barbara Woodside<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Early life events have profound and long lasting effects on the physiology and behavior of adult organisms. The focus of this course is the impact of the prenatal environment and, in some instances, preconception environment of the parents on vulnerability to metabolic and psychiatric disorders in the adult offspring. Particular emphasis will be placed on the pathways and mechanisms through which these effects are conveyed from parent to offspring and how the sex of the offspring may modulate them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
