A link to the current CUPE 4600 (Unit 2) Collective<br>Agreement can be found at the Academic Staff Agreements webpage on the Carleton<br>University website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates should be proficient in the English language and have a graduate degree in Neuroscience. Priority will be given to candidates whose research and\/or teaching expertise is a strong match with the core material of the course being taught. Please include a cover letter that describes your suitability for the course you are applying to teach. &nbsp;For those applicants who have not taught in the Department of Neuroscience, a letter of reference in support of your teaching ability is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Final decision for hiring may be determined through an interview process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"undergraduate-courses\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Undergraduate Courses<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NEUR 1203 [0.5 credit] &#8211; ONLINE<\/strong> &#8211; <strong>July-August &#8211;<\/strong> <strong>Neuroscience of Mental Health and Neurological Disease<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clinical symptoms of neurological disease, including biological, developmental, experiential and environmental factors that contribute to disease. Topics may include stroke, multiple sclerosis, migraine, seizure disorder, Parkinson\u2019s disease, ALS, chronic pain, Alzheimer\u2019s disease and concussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anticipated enrolment will be 150 students. There will be TA support contingent upon enrolment with one approved TA.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NEUR 2201 [0.5 credit] &#8211; ONLINE<\/strong> &#8211; <strong>May-June-<\/strong> <strong>Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Core principles in cellular and molecular neuroscience, including signal transmission along and between neurons, ion channels and transporters, intracellular signaling pathways, and regulation of gene expression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anticipated enrolment will be 150 students. There will be TA support contingent upon enrolment with one approved TA.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NEUR 2202 [0.5 credit] &#8211; ONLINE &#8211; July-August Neurodevelopment and Plasticity<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Core principles in nervous system development from embryogenesis to plasticity in the adult brain. Topics include neural induction, neurogenesis, apoptosis, neuronal migration and axon growth, synaptogenesis and synaptic pruning both under normal conditions and in psychopathology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anticipated enrolment will be 150 students. There will be TA support contingent upon enrolment with one approved TA.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Article 17 Appointment:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following courses have been assigned to graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, or visiting scholars. The department will contact the most senior incumbent to review their rights under Article 17 of the CUPE 4600-2 Collective Agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NEUR 1202 [0.5 credit] &#8211; ONLINE &#8211; May-June &#8211; Neuroscience of Mental Health and Psychiatric Disease<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clinical symptoms of neurological disease, including biological, developmental, experiential and environmental factors that contribute to disease.
