We plan out every aspect, approve visuals, co-ordinate media movements and execute it. It was such a great experience that she wishes she had done it sooner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After graduating, she worked as a data processor for the City of Ottawa, then earned a graduate certificate in Public Administration from Toronto\u2019s Humber College, which helped her land a job as a communications and events co-ordinator with the Ontario government, in the energy minister\u2019s office, where she found her passion for scheduling events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That led to a tour planning role with former premier Kathleen Wynne\u2019s office and an offer to join Trudeau\u2019s team during his campaign for the federal election in fall 2015, which brought her to where she is today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Menchini\u2019s parents are \u201cunbelievably proud,\u201d she says, and her husband, <a href=\"https:\/\/sprott.carleton.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sprott School of Business<\/a> graduate Dave Chrystal, \u201chas been a rock, especially when I was on the advance team and travelling all around the world and never at home. It is so important to have a good support system, especially in a job like this.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Keeping a journal helps Menchini remember the whirlwind of her working life \u2014&nbsp;\u201cit\u2019s so busy, I forget what I had for breakfast some days,\u201d she says \u2014&nbsp;but she doesn\u2019t mind the demands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m very focused on the doing the best I can in this role, for my team and for the prime minister,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Susan Menchini got a dog recently, a Bernedoodle named Jonathan. \u201cHe\u2019s the cutest thing ever!\u201d she says.
