VV and Shopify had approached the BGCO about building a program that would engage and interest their youth in technology literacy and coding.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"not-prose cu-quote cu-component-spacing\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe Boys and Girls Club is all about bringing opportunities to young people who might not have access, so this was a wonderful fit,\u201d says Joiner.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe piloted the program back in January 2018 with one clubhouse location. The at-home kit idea came up as an alternative solution to bring Link&lt;ed&gt; directly to the kids. The members were also so excited to receive something in the mail. This is such a challenging time for all, and knowing how bored a lot of these youth are at home\u2014and how hard it is for parents to keep them entertained\u2014we wanted to share some fun but educational projects and activities to help out.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Activities that do not involve computers include Lego coding obstacle courses, bionic hands, slime, lava lamps, tin foil boats and straw roller-coasters.
