For the past 21 years, community members, students, staff and faculty members have walked through the Nesbitt Biology Building\u2019s greenhouse as exotic butterfly species flit and flutter about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, the community was invited to view the free show online from the comfort of their own homes. Viewers were able to watch the emergence cage where butterflies emerged from their chrysalises. Other viewing angles included the transfer cage where new butterflies were transferred into the greenhouse, the feeding station, and a common flight path where butterflies alighted on various nectar flowers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Greenhouse Tour 2020\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/yE1ziHhlcvw?start=171&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The department also produced spotlight videos showcasing five unique species: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qOjOQFDRlNY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Emerald Swallowtail<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=4rC6sprUCy0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Giant Owl<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=I5Fmt19VamM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Great Mormon<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=22NVyZhzcAU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">White Tree Nymph<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=6DJHQWq3YeM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Blue Morpho<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Butterfly Spotlight: Emerald Swallowtail\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qOjOQFDRlNY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>For the virtual week, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/cubutterflies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@cuButterflies Instagram account<\/a> posted daily videos, infographics and Q&amp;A from the community.
