\n Carleton Day at Queen\u2019s Park\n <\/h1>\n \n <\/header>\n <\/div>\n\n \n <\/path>\n <\/path>\n <\/svg>\n <\/div>\n\n \n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

A group of Carleton University researchers, students, senior leaders and staff spent the day at Queen\u2019s Park on Oct. 25, meeting with cabinet ministers and provincial officials to discuss the importance of stable support for higher education \u2014 and how Carleton can help Ontario address the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second Carleton Day at Queen’s Park<\/a> \u2014 which was modelled after a successful inaugural event in 2014 \u2014 showcased the university\u2019s capacity for talent development, economic development and job creation, as well as its leadership on energy, climate change and Indigenous issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The series of meetings was followed by a reception co-hosted by Ontario Attorney General, Yasir Naqvi<\/a>, the MPP for Ottawa Centre \u2014 the riding where Carleton is located \u2014 and Carleton President Alastair J.S. Summerlee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carleton alumni and MPPs from the province\u2019s three main political parties attended the reception, which was part of the university\u2019s 75th<\/sup> anniversary<\/a> celebrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCarleton has had a very remarkable impact on the development of Canada and Ontario after the Second World War and continues to make an impact,\u201d Naqvi said in his opening remarks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
