Her dedication and determination to serve her country of adoption is without compare.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Born in Turkey, Baltacio\u011flu came to Canada at the age of 21 after earning a law degree at Istanbul University. She became interested in Canadian democracy and applied and completed a <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/sppa\/ma\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Master\u2019s in Public Administration<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She was recommended for a term position at the Public Service Commission by one of her professors. The Chancellor presides over Convocation ceremonies, conferring degrees, diplomas and certificates on graduating students, and serves as an ambassador for the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Baltacio\u011flu views size as the greatest challenge the public sector currently faces.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"not-prose cu-quote cu-component-spacing\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cGovernments are large organizations and they are slow to adapt, pivot and innovate. Members include public servants, academics and others interested in public administration.
