it&#8217;s a place where people can grow and develop, and contribute to teams doing meaningful work.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"not-prose cu-quote cu-component-spacing\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ve grown the culture to focus on health promotion, mental health and work-life balance,&#8221; said <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/finance-admin\/people\/kane-ed\/\">Ed Kane<\/a>, the university&#8217;s assistant vice-president (University Services) and chair of Carleton&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/healthy-workplace\/\">Healthy Workplace<\/a> committee.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s been a slow organic process from the early days. We see ourselves becoming a leader in higher education and in Canada as a healthy workplace.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Carleton\u2019s Finance and Administration Division Awarded Gold Level Certification\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XQWH4S1aNww?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The university&#8217;s Finance and Administration division is also committed to implementing the Excellence, Innovation and Wellness standard, which focuses on developing strong leadership, the customer experience, staff engagement and continuous improvement in the way the division works. The division has demonstrated its commitment to service excellence by being people focused and excellence driven.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"not-prose cu-quote cu-component-spacing\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;Excellence, Innovation and Wellness is not just a program,&#8221; said Michel Pich\u00e9, vice-president (Finance and Administration).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Over the years, it has become part of our culture within the Finance and Administration division. It is not something we simply did, achieved and then moved on. The criteria within Excellence, Innovation and Wellness Gold Level certification are linked to our strategic goals and have guided us, and will continue to guide us, through our continuous improvement journey. Lassiter Jr. Legacy Award from the National Association of College Auxiliary Services (<a href=\"https:\/\/nacas.org\/\">NACAS<\/a>) for his leadership, commitment to volunteerism and community service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Under his leadership on campus, University Services has grown and continuously explores ways to deliver the best services,&#8221; Pich\u00e9 wrote in a message to the Carleton community about Kane&#8217;s award, which was bestowed at the NACAS conference in Colorado Springs, Colorado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Ed has been the longtime champion and chair of the Healthy Workplace Committee and mental health initiative for faculty and staff.
