\n Carleton Alumni Named in Forty Under 40 Awards for Young Leaders\n <\/h1>\n \n <\/header>\n <\/div>\n\n \n <\/path>\n <\/path>\n <\/svg>\n <\/div>\n\n \n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

Seven Carleton alumni have been named in Ottawa\u2019s 2023\u202f<\/span>Forty Under 40\u202flist<\/span><\/a>, the region\u2019s biggest business award for young leaders.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou have to feel for today\u2019s up-and-coming business leaders and entrepreneurs who have risen to the top while feeling the headwinds of a three-year global pandemic,\u201d wrote the <\/span>Ottawa Business Journal<\/span><\/i>, which runs the initiative jointly with the Ottawa Board of Trade.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cGoing forward, these leaders will face a work world that has been reshaped by COVID, a city trying to redefine itself, and an economy that continues to suffer the after-effects of the past several years.\u201d<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

This year, Carleton\u2019s winners are made up of business, technology, engineering, industrial design and legal professionals. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jessica Barrow is a partner at Perley-Robertson, Hill & McDougall LLP. She graduated from Carleton\u2019s <\/span>Institute of Criminology and Criminal Justice<\/span><\/a> in 2009. After attending Carleton, Barrow went on to study law at Queen\u2019s University.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jacqueline Bonisteel is a <\/span>Canadian immigration, refugee and citizenship lawyer and partner for the Corporate Immigration Law Firm. A 2011 <\/span>International Affairs<\/span><\/a> graduate, Bonisteel covers immigration, citizenship and refugee law with particular focus on corporate immigration and litigation.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dave Hale, Chairman and CEO at Craft&Crew Corp (C&C), attended Carleton and Algonquin College before launching his start-up Soshal in 2010. In 2020, Hale rebranded the global marketing company to C&C. Since its inception, C&C has launched more than 500 business-to-business websites.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matthew Henley is the <\/span>Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer at AI Talos, a company is developing AI solutions for early detection of breast cancer. Before joining AI Talos, Henley attended Carleton\u2019s <\/span>Political Science<\/span><\/a> program. He\u2019s worked at Trexity, Soca Capital and currently holds an advisor role at Capital Angel Network. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adel Jawhary, graduated from Carleton\u2019s <\/span>Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering<\/span><\/a> program in 2016 and went on to become CEO of Rydel Roofing. One of Canada\u2019s first roofing franchises, Jawhary has been with the ever-growing company for nearly 12 years. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emma Mohns, a Criminology and Criminal Justice graduate, is Senior Legal Counsel, Corporate, at Kinaxis Inc. After graduating from Carleton in 2011, Mohns studied law at the University of Ottawa. She has also held positions at LaBarge Weinstein LLP and the Trans Canada Trail. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rohan Thakar, Managing Partner and Industrial Design Lead at Brash Inc., graduated from Carleton\u2019s Industrial Design<\/a> program in 2012. Thakar founded Brash <\/span>\u2014<\/span> a design agency that offers over 50 services <\/span>\u2014<\/span> <\/span>alongside two fellow Carleton alumni<\/span><\/a>. In his role, Thakar <\/span>focuses on the physical properties of a product such as casings, manufacturing, materials and finishes, along with the development of user interface design and experience for software products.<\/span> <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
