The victory makes the team the first in CIS history to win 11 national championships. It is the fifth consecutive title for the team, and the 11th in 13 years.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"not-prose cu-quote cu-component-spacing\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWe are all proud of our team, our coach and coaching staff,\u201d said Carleton President Roseann O\u2019Reilly Runte. \u201cOur students are true scholar athletes. They are smart, strong and fine team players: true leaders!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n<p>[wide-image url=&#8221;https:\/\/newsroom.carleton.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/11th-championship.jpg&#8221;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Philip Scrubb was named Carleton player of the game, received the Jack Donohue Trophy as championship MVP and was voted a tournament all-star.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"not-prose cu-quote cu-component-spacing\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWe started hitting a few shots and we had a lot of momentum \u2013 especially in the third quarter,\u201d said Philip Scrubb. \u201cIf we play like that every game, especially defensively, that\u2019s what we expect.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Philip Scrubb had 28 points and 10 assists during the game.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>[wide-image url=&#8221;https:\/\/newsroom.carleton.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/11th-championship-1.jpg&#8221;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thomas Scrubb was once again terrific for the Ravens finishing with 20 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. He is the CIS Defensive Player of the Year.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"not-prose cu-quote cu-component-spacing\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cIt definitely feels good,\u201d noted Thomas Scrubb. \u201cA lot of people thought Ottawa was better than us this year. It really felt good to play at our highest level today.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Brothers Philip Scrubb and Thomas Scrubb became the fourth and fifth players in CIS men\u2019s basketball history \u2013 and the second and third players in Carleton history \u2013 to earn five national titles. Both Scrubbs were also named CIS Final 8 All-Stars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Scrubbs &#8211; along with Victor Raso &#8211; are graduating in 2015, but went out on a high note as they played their last game with the Ravens.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>[wide-image url=&#8221;https:\/\/newsroom.carleton.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/11th-championship-2.jpg&#8221;]<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"not-prose cu-quote cu-component-spacing\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cOur three graduating student-athletes played a significant role in the basketball team\u2019s success over the past five years,\u201d said Jennifer Brenning, director of athletics at Carleton. \u201cWhile leading by example, Phil and Tommy have been unbelievable in their athletic performances wearing the Ravens uniform, winning much-deserved accolades and awards.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The Ravens capped off the season with a 23-2 record in the regular season and play-offs.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"not-prose cu-quote cu-component-spacing\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cVictor provided leadership both on and off the basketball court. All three will be missed next season.
