In addition to teaching at Carleton, he is now the National Observer\u2019s deputy managing editor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>David has co-authored three journalism textbooks and two user guides on freedom-of-information laws and privacy, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to his teaching, he is a data-journalism trainer who has conducted workshops for the Canadian Association of Journalists, the U.S.-based National Institute for Computer-Assisted Reporting, the Humber Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, and the Canadian Association of Community Television Users and Stations. His research fields have been unemployment, the supranational governance of Europe, migration, and, most recently, secrecy.
