A fundamental assumption behind her work is that all young people have the capacity to thrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This has led her to question the validity of popular but negative stories about youth that appear in the media and are embraced by the public but aren\u2019t clearly supported by empirical research (the \u201ckids these days\u201d fallacy).
