\nSaideman\u2019s research interests focus on the causes and consequences of intervention into intra-state conflicts. His current research deals with the role of legislatures in democratic civil-military relations.  He teaches courses on contemporary international security, civil-military relations and United States foreign and defence policy. Saideman also has expertise in ethnic conflict and civil war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kovalio is an expert on Asia-Pacific history. He is the former president of the Japan Studies Association of Canada and the president of Japan Pacific World Consulting. He has researched and published extensively on Asia-Pacific international relations, strategic studies and history issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haichin\u2019s research focuses on how a state\u2019s regime type can influence the potential benefits and disadvantages of possessing nuclear weapons. His research interests include nuclear proliferation and deterrence issues, as well as broader weapons of mass destruction (WMD) concerns. Prior to his studies at Carleton, Haichin worked for former MP Irwin Cotler and was on the editorial board of the Millennium Journal of International Studies<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
