Members of J-Schools Canada\/\u00c9colesJ will formalize its governance structure next spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs one of the founding members, we are pleased to play an active role in the launch of this important organization,\u201d said Susan Harada, associate director of Carleton\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/sjc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">School of Journalism and Communication<\/a>. \u201cOur School will continue to support excellence in journalism education here in Canada and abroad, and will advocate to ensure its ongoing success.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The WJEC represents worldwide academic associations involved in post-secondary journalism. It provides a common space for global educators to focus on issues in the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As well as representing Canada at the WJEC, J-Schools Canada\/\u00c9colesJ is committed to strengthening post-secondary journalism education for future generations. It operates as the official publishing body responsible for <a href=\"http:\/\/j-source.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">J-Source<\/a> and provides support for the Journalism Interest Group of the Canadian Communication Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Current association members include the University of British Columbia, British Columbia Institute of Technology, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Lethbridge College, Mount Royal University, University of Regina, Wilfrid Laurier University, Ryerson University, Algonquin College, Carleton University, University of King\u2019s College, College of the North Atlantic.
