She capitalized on her master\u2019s degree from the School of Public Policy and Administration to flourish in the federal civil service.&nbsp; Baltacio\u011flu held many leadership roles in various departments and served as an adviser to four prime ministers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCarleton\u2019s School of Public Policy and Administration (SSPA) trained me as a generalist,\u201d said Baltacio\u011flu. \u201cSo when I got to the public service, I could learn and do almost anything. When I got my first paycheque, I couldn\u2019t believe they would pay me to have so much fun. I loved it from day one.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She has been honoured by the Public Policy Forum, and has twice been recognized by the Women\u2019s Executive Network as one of Canada\u2019s Top 100 Most Powerful Women.&nbsp; She has been recognized for several honours for significant contributions to the public sector, including the Queen Elizabeth ll Diamond and Jubilee medals and the 125th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada Medal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prime Minister Trudeau summed up her accomplishments best when he said: \u201cYaprak Baltacio\u011flu is one of Canada\u2019s most distinguished, most respected, public servants.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bacon paid tribute to outgoing Chancellor, Charles Chi, an entrepreneur, innovator and venture investor who is currently the executive chairman at Lytro.
