\n Carleton Announces Dana Brown as New Dean of Sprott School of Business\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

Carleton University has announced the appointment of Dana Brown from De Montfort University as the new dean of the Sprott School of Business. Brown will begin a five-year term on July 1, 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOn behalf of President Benoit-Antoine Bacon and our colleagues, I look forward to welcoming Dana to the Carleton community,\u201d said Jerry Tomberlin, interim provost and vice-president (Academic). \u201cShe is a well-respected administrator with years of business leadership experience. Her strategic vision for the future of Sprott makes her a fantastic choice.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brown is currently the pro vice-chancellor (Enterprise) \/ dean at De Montfort University\u2019s Leicester Castle Business School. She was previously director of the MBA at the University of Oxford\u2019s Sa\u00efd Business School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am delighted to be joining Sprott, and I look forward to working with colleagues to take the school into its next phase of success,\u201d said Brown. \u201cThe amount of talent and level of ambition at Carleton presents an exciting opportunity to further develop an innovative approach to business education and to grow Sprott\u2019s impact locally and globally.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before accepting an appointment as university lecturer at the University of Oxford in 2005, Brown worked as one of the first employees at Amazon.com and served as director of the Trenton Academic Centre at Rutgers University. In 2010, she joined EMLYON Business School as a professor of strategic management and academic director of the Doctorate in Business Administration (France\/China).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brown obtained a BA in Political Science and Slavic Languages at Rutgers University in 1994, an MPhil in Russian and East European Studies at the University of Oxford in 1996 and a PhD in Political Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2005.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
