\n Carleton to Host Event Honouring Leonardo da Vinci\u2019s Deluge Drawings\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

Carleton University Prof. Manuel B\u00e1ez of the Azrieli School of Architecture and Urbanism<\/a> in the research-intensive Faculty of Engineering and Design<\/a> and his students will host Diluvio: Drawing Inspiration from Leonardo\u2019s Deluge Drawings<\/a><\/em> \u2013 a presentation of their sculptural installation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The presentation and reception is part of Cinquecento: Carleton Celebrates Leonardo da Vinci<\/a><\/em>. At this event, Cinquecento<\/em> Chair Angelo Mingarelli<\/a> will provide an overview of how Carleton plans to honour and celebrate da Vinci throughout 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nInfo<\/strong>: This event is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Featuring artwork by students from his Crossings Interdisciplinary Workshop, B\u00e1ez will present the underlying ideas behind the installation \u2013 created from aluminum mesh folded into fluid, malleable patterns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

B\u00e1ez will explore how the project has drawn inspiration from da Vinci\u2019s deluge drawings, his reflections on the inter-connections within all of nature and his study of the dynamics of the flow of water, air, light, shadows and energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
