The report examines the Trudeau record on diplomacy, defence, security, development, trade, climate change, the environment, and immigration and refugees. The report card gives the Trudeau government a C+ overall, which is by far the worst grade since evaluating of the Liberal record began in 2015.

Though foreign policy rarely weighs heavily on the minds of Canadian voters during elections, this year may be different. Accusations of political interference and inappropriate pressure hover over the Liberal government’s political fortunes.

To read the full report please visit http://iaffairscanada.com/2019/2019-trudeau-report-card/.

Media Contact
Steven Reid
Media Relations Officer
Carleton University
613-520-2600, ext. 8718
613-265-6613
Steven_Reid3@Carleton.ca

Carleton Newsroom: https://newsroom.carleton.ca/
Follow us on Twitter: www.twitter.com/Cunewsroom
Need an expert? Go to: www.carleton.ca/newsroom/experts

Carleton University’s David Carment, professor at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA) and editor of the Canadian Foreign Policy Journal (CFPJ), announces the release of the 2019 Trudeau Foreign Policy Report Card, produced in partnership with CFPJ and iaffairscanada.
