Women most often have the responsibilities of water gathering, production and usage in the home and in agricultural production. Two-thirds of the world\u2019s poor populations lack access to safe and reliable water. To improve water quality, more women must be included in managerial and decision-making institutions \u2013 especially in developing countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Henry is the lead author of the \u201cWomen and Water\u201d chapter in the book <em>Water Quality in the Americas: Risks and Opportunities<\/em> \u2013 to be released on World Water Day. The book is published by the Inter-American Network of Academies of Sciences (IANAS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"about-frances-henry\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">About Frances Henry<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Henry is one of Canada&#8217;s leading experts in the study of racism and anti-racism. Now retired, Henry continues an active research and publishing career, writing on issues of racism and anti-racism in Canada. Her most recent book, co-authored with colleagues, is <em>The Equity Myth.<\/em> Published by UBC press, the book reports the results of a four-year national study of race, racialization and Indigeneity at Canadian universities. Henry has been a member of the RSC since 1989.
