\n Society for Neuroscience Ottawa Chapter to Host Brain and Mental Health Art Show\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

The Society for Neuroscience, Ottawa Chapter, which includes researchers and students from Carleton University, will host the Brain and Mental Health Art Show<\/a><\/em>. The annual event connects the scientific and mental health communities of Ottawa while raising awareness and funds in support of local charities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When<\/strong>: Friday, April 5, 2019 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
\nWhere<\/strong>: Horticulture Building, Lansdowne Park, 1525 Princess Patricia, Ottawa
\nInfo<\/strong>: Admission is $10 at the door; please note admission is cash only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Media are invited to attend the event.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The show will feature a diverse range of artistic work, including sculptures, mixed media, photographs and paintings created by researchers, students, community members and individuals living with mental illness. The show allows artists and guests to express their own experiences, feelings and struggles related to the brain and mental health. The show will include a silent and live auction for art, as well as a raffle for donated prizes; refreshments will be available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All proceeds will be donated to Ancoura<\/a>, a not-for-profit organization that helps subsidize housing for individuals living with mental illness in the Ottawa area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
