Riddell Graduate Program in Political Management<\/a> will host the <a href=\"https:\/\/events.carleton.ca\/the-right-honourable-herb-gray-lecture\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Right Honourable Herb Gray Lecture<\/a> featuring NBC and MSNBC&#8217;s Ali Velshi, who will deliver the talk <em>The Weaponization of Culture: The Rise of Identity Politics.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>: Monday, May 6, 2019, reception begins at 5:30 p.m. the lecture begins at 7 p.m.<br>\n<strong>Where<\/strong>: Library and Archives Canada, 395 Wellington St., Ottawa, ON<br>\n<strong>Info<\/strong>: Tickets for this event are $10. Registration is <a href=\"https:\/\/payments.carleton.ca\/advancement\/the-right-honourable-herb-gray-lecture\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">available online<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Media are invited to attend the event.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to his duties as an MSNBC anchor, Velshi is a business correspondent for NBC News and MSNBC. His lecture will be followed by a question and answer period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This event is the first of an annual series of lectures to honour the legacy of the late Herb Gray, who served as deputy prime minister of Canada and was a former chancellor of Carleton University. It recognizes Gray\u2019s contributions to both the academic and political spheres.
