\n Carleton-Based Energy Efficiency Think Tank Launches National Campaign to Showcase Workers Behind the Boom in Green Jobs\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

Carleton University-based Efficiency Canada<\/a> has launched a national campaign to put energy efficiency on the map.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The campaign, Our Human Energy, positions energy efficiency as a fast-growing, emerging sector \u2014 not only a government or utility program \u2014 by showcasing stories of Canadians making a living doing energy efficiency work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 436,000 people are employed in the energy efficiency sector, and this sector is growing at three times the rate of the rest of the economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe know energy efficiency workers help families save money, enable small businesses to create jobs, and even improve learning environments at schools,\u201d said Corey Diamond, executive director for the national organization. \u201cRight now, policy-makers don\u2019t recognize that many of the people they represent are part of the energy efficiency industry. We need to raise our voice!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur goal is to establish and grow an authentic and engaged community composed of diverse energy efficiency workers, professionals and industry allies. Our plan is to create opportunities for energy efficiency workers to connect with each other around shared pride and shared challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The campaign demonstrates the human impact of energy efficiency work, enabling workers to take pride in the work they do to make communities healthier, affordable, more comfortable and part of something bigger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To demonstrate the importance, size and strength of their community, Efficiency Canada is asking energy efficiency  workers across Canada to join the movement and show their pride in contributing to Canada\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
