As July 20, 2019 marks the 50th<\/sup> anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, a Carleton expert is available to discuss space exploration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chhabra is available to discuss future missions to the moon and Mars, as well as the role of space robotic systems in these journeys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chhabra is a Tier 2 Canada Research chair in Autonomous Space Robotics and Mechatronics and is the founder and director of the Autonomous Space Robotics and Mechatronics Lab. From 2014 to 2017, Chhabra was a Guidance, Navigation and Control Engineer at MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (MDA). His research was centred around studying off-nominal behaviour of the Mobile Servicing System operating on the International Space Station and improving the traction control of the Lunar Exploration Light Rover. In addition to this research, Chhabra contributed to the next generation of space missions, such as ExoMars and Deep-Space Exploration Robotics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chhabra is available for interviews from July 18 to July 19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
