A campus map is <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/campus\/map\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">available online<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Media are invited to attend the event.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through discussions of renowned polymaths of the period, Perissinotto will examine the preponderance of beauty in both Renaissance art and cities \u2013 as well as the many geniuses the time period produced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Cristina Perissinotto<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Perissinotto is an Italian-Canadian scholar and poet. She an associate professor of Italian Studies and director of the Italian program at the University of Ottawa. She is president of the Canadian Association of Italian Studies. Her research interests are focused on the crossroads of literature, philosophy and politics<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She has published three poetry collections: <em>Tigers and the CEO<\/em>; <em>Exhale, Exhale;<\/em> and <em>Taprobana Tea<\/em>. Perissinotto has co-published an edited book on ethics and theatre, <em>La dimensione etica nel teatro italiano contemporaneo <\/em>with Patrizia Piredda. She co-edited the work <em>Cronache dal cielo stretto <\/em>about writers of the Italian northeast, as well as <em>Mediterranoesis<\/em> about the Mediterranean in the Middle Ages and Renaissance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Cinquecento: Carleton Celebrates Leonardo da Vinci<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Cinquecento: Carleton Celebrates Leonardo da Vinci<\/em> is a year-long celebration that looks at da Vinci\u2019s work with fresh eyes. In Italian, \u201cCinquecento\u201d means 500 and, for this series of events, refers to the 500 years since his passing. During Cinquecento, Carleton\u2019s faculties come together to explore da Vinci\u2019s interdisciplinary innovations.
