\n Carleton to Host Fifth Annual International Hockey Analytics Conference\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

Carleton University\u2019s School of Mathematics and Statistics<\/a> will host the fifth annual Ottawa International Hockey Analytics Conference<\/a> in collaboration with St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two-day event will bring together students, academics, coaches, players and sports data enthusiasts to discuss the collection and analysis of hockey data in workshops and expert panels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Workshops: Intro to Tableau <\/em>and Scraping NHL Data<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When<\/strong>: Friday, Nov. 15, 2019, workshops begin at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
\nWhere<\/strong>: Rooms 1200 and 1201, Richcraft Hall, Carleton
\nInfo<\/strong>: Registration is required and is available online<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Intro to Tableau<\/em> will be hosted by Sean Tierney, while Scraping NHL Dat<\/em>a will be led by Roman Parparov.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hockey Analytics Conference<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When<\/strong>: Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019, conference begins at 8:30 a.m.
\nWhere<\/strong>: Room 1301, Health Sciences Building, Carleton
\nInfo<\/strong>: Registration is required and is available online<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Media are invited to attend the event. A campus map can be <\/strong>found online<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference will include a keynote address by hockey data analyst Ryan Stimson, a session featuring The Last Stretch Podcast<\/em>, discussions on shot tracking and the state of hockey analytics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This conference is organized by Carleton Prof. Shirley Mills and Prof. Michael Schuckers from St. Lawrence University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
