The popular family-friendly event features flames, explosions, amazing colour changes, things that glow in the dark and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to the indoor shows, hands-on activities will provide guests with the opportunity to make ice cream with liquid nitrogen, encounter interesting smells and see some of the show\u2019s demonstrations up close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Media are invited to attend.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Chemistry Magic Show<br>\n<\/strong><strong>When: <\/strong>Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020, magic shows begin at 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3:45 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Where: <\/strong>Room 2220, Richcraft Hall, Carleton<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Info: <\/strong>A campus map is <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/campus\/map\/\">available online<\/a>; free parking is available in lot P9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hands-on Activities<br>\n<\/strong><strong>When: <\/strong>Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020, activities begin at 9 a.m. and run until 3:30 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Where: <\/strong>The Superlab, Room 204, Steacie Building, Carleton<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Attendees will be inspired, entertained and informed as hosts wow the crowds with demonstrations that highlight chemical and scientific principles while explaining the applications and impact on our everyday lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>The show includes a look at the inner workings of fireworks and chemical reactions that can tell time. It is appropriate for everyone aged five and up. However there will be loud noises that may scare some younger children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>Seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Attendees should plan to arrive early to ensure admittance. If the auditorium reaches capacity, the show will be live streamed in an overflow room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>Admission to the event is by donation of non-perishable food items and cash for the Ottawa Food Bank.
