Hamilton and Robinson\u2019s work critically analyzes the stakes of communicating in a modern democratic society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Expert panelists Prof. Valerie Steeves of the University of Ottawa and former CBC journalist Sherry Aske will join Hamilton and Robinson. Steeves is a globally recognized scholar in the field of privacy rights, surveillance, human rights and technology \u2013 including youth harassment online. Aske is the host of the media literacy podcast <em>Post\/Riposte<\/em> and a communications officer with Elections Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This event is part of the Ottawa International Writer\u2019s Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the Authors<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hamilton\u2019s academic research explores the senses, bodies, media and regulation in the context of ubiquitous disease threats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Robinson studies the role of algorithms in contemporary media culture.
