Landon Pearson&#8217;s 90th birthday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When:<\/strong> Monday, Nov. 16, 2020<br>\n<strong>Time:<\/strong> 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No registration is required, you can click the link below to join the webinar:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/zoom.us\/j\/98351737731\">https:\/\/zoom.us\/j\/98351737731<\/a>&nbsp;or join us via telephone: (647) 374-4685 or (647) 558-0588.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Landon Pearson:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/landonpearsoncentre\/landon-pearsons-biography\/\">Landon Pearson<\/a> has championed children&#8217;s rights in Canada at key and pivotal moments for more than 60 years and continues to be actively involved on Carleton University&#8217;s campus, mentoring students and connecting children&#8217;s rights colleagues through the Child Rights Academic Network (CRAN).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/landonpearsoncentre\/\">The Landon Pearson Resource Centre for the Study of Childhood and Children\u2019s Rights<\/a> was established in June 2006\u2014and with Pearson herself at the helm\u2014continues her important work, engaging with children&#8217;s rights scholars, activists, advocates, practitioners, legal and medical professionals, as well as children to ensure that they are aware of their rights and are able to exercise them within a receptive and mutually respectful society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Landon Pearson Centre proudly promotes a rights-respecting approach in all of their activities, enabling children\u2019s and young people\u2019s participation through exemplary rights-based activities, acts as the institutional memory-holder regarding the development of children\u2019s rights in Canada, supports key areas including teaching, research, mentorship, collaboration and knowledge dissemination, and offers a place for creative engagement for all:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Teaching: Fosters a culture of respect by improving understanding and awareness of children\u2019s rights.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Research: Supports quality research and knowledge mobilization efforts.
