Feb. 8 to 12 is International Development Week<\/a> and Carleton experts are available to speak with journalists about related topics. This year\u2019s theme is \u201cGo for the Goals,\u201d with a focus on gender equality, health and climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hampson\u2019s research interests include Canadian foreign policy, internet governance, international organization, international negotiation and conflict resolution and analysis. Hampson is the president of the World Refugee & Migration Council. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marylynn Steckley<\/strong>
\n<\/strong>Professor, Arthur Kroeger College<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steckley’s work is located broadly in the field of political ecology, with a focus on globalization, and social inequality. She is particularly interested in processes of social differentiation, displacement and ‘othering’ through food systems, with an emphasis on how class, race and gender intersect to influence food security, dietary choices and access to land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steckley is available to speak about climate change from a critical development geography perspective, and the uneven gendered experiences of food insecurity, and diet-related diseases. Steckley has worked in the field of international development as a policy analyst, advocacy and food justice co-ordinator, and disaster response co-ordinator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
