Charles<\/strong><strong><br>\n<\/strong>Assistant Vice-President and University Advisor, Equity and Inclusive Communities<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Email:<\/strong> <a href=\"mailto:MichaelCharles3@cunet.carleton.ca\">MichaelCharles3@cunet.carleton.ca<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Charles is available to discuss topics related to IDERD more broadly. He has written two articles on about the topic, including the consequences of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/pulse\/how-racializing-virus-affects-leadership-michael-f-charles\/\">racializing a virus<\/a> and another in commemoration of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/pulse\/from-outrage-accountability-action-michael-f-charles\/?trackingId=Q4cijr2STzSY67kvKCGfJg%3D%3D\">International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Chinnaiah Jangam<\/strong><strong><br>\n<\/strong>Professor, Department of History<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Email:<\/strong> <a href=\"mailto:Chinnaiah.Jangam@carleton.ca\">Chinnaiah.Jangam@carleton.ca<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jangam&#8217;s research illuminates the history of marginalization and resistance through the lens of Dalits (people belonging to the lowest caste in India). His teaching focuses on South Asian intellectual, social and cultural histories and their connections with the rest of the world, from ancient to modern times. He teaches courses on decolonization, histories of marginalization and resistance, world history, the Indian Ocean world, race and empire and emancipatory politics. Jangam is available to speak about racism against Asians and also about race and caste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dennis Kao&nbsp;<\/strong><br>\nProfessor, School of Social Work<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Email:<\/strong> <a href=\"mailto:dennis.kao@carleton.ca\">dennis.kao@carleton.ca&nbsp;<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kao&#8217;s research interests include health equity, minority aging, Asian immigrant communities, aging-friendly communities and geographic information systems. He is available to discuss issues related to anti-Asian racism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kanika Samuels-Wortley<\/strong><strong><br>\n<\/strong>Professor, Institute of Criminology and Criminal Justice<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Email:<\/strong> <a href=\"mailto:kanika.samuelswortley@carleton.ca\">kanika.samuelswortley@carleton.ca<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Samuels-Wortley\u2019s areas of interest include race and racism, youth delinquency, policing, corrections and critical race theory. Her research explores the complex relationship between race and crime and is committed to better understanding the overrepresentation of Black and Indigenous youth in the criminal justice system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She is currently collaborating on a number of projects, including exploring race and racialization among incarcerated individuals, the policing of hate crime and the surveillance of racialized communities.
