He is available to speak about the need for education in accessibility to create more accessible environments, as well as accessibility initiatives and research on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dominique Marshall<\/strong><br>\nProfessor, History<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Email:&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"mailto:dominique.marshall@carleton.ca\">dominique.marshall@carleton.ca<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marshall is available to discuss the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cudisabilityresearchgroup.wordpress.com\/about\/\">Carleton University Disability Research Group<\/a>. (CUDRG). The group has three virtual exhibitions including,&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/mobilityhistories.omeka.net\/\"><em>A Wheelchair History of<\/em>&nbsp;<em>Disability.<\/em><\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/envisioningtechnologies.omeka.net\/\"><em>Envisioning Technologies<\/em><\/a>&nbsp;and <a href=\"https:\/\/transnationalrepresentation.omeka.net\/exhibits\/show\/transnational-representation--\"><em>Transnational Representation: Canada and the Founding of Disabled Peoples\u2019 International<\/em><\/a><em>.&nbsp;<\/em>Last fall, Marshall convened Carleton&#8217;s Shannon Lecture in History &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3odGZHPs6LU\">On the Cutting Edge: Disabled Canadians and Rights Acquisition.<\/a>\u201d&nbsp;She is currently working on an ongoing research project entitled &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/cudisabilityresearchgroup.wordpress.com\/2020\/09\/09\/announcing-the-launch-of-oral-histories-of-activists-in-the-disability-rights-movement-between-1970-and-2020\/\">Oral histories of activists in the disability rights movement between 1970 and&nbsp;2020<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cathy Malcolm Edwards<\/strong><br>\nLead, Co-ordinated Accessibility Strategy (CAS) Implementation, <em>Research, Education, Accessibility and Design (READ) Initiative&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Email:&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"mailto:cathy.edwards@carleton.ca\">cathy.edwards@carleton.ca<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a member of <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/read\/\">READ<\/a>, Edwards co-develops ideas with colleagues, researchers and community partners, helps bring ideas to life as projects that address real-world accessibility issues and build community. She lives with visible and non-visible disabilities and is passionate about the role universal design can play in making the world more accessible and equitable for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dean Mellway<\/strong><strong><br>\n<\/strong>Accessibility Advisor, READ Initiative<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Email:&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"mailto:dean.mellway@carleton.ca\">dean.mellway@carleton.ca<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mellway moved to Ottawa in 1980 to become executive director of the Canadian Wheelchair Sports Association and after 10 years, joined the team at Carleton to open the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/pmc\/\">Paul Menton Centre for Students with Disabilities<\/a> (PMC). Mellway has recently completed a six-year term as acting director of Carleton\u2019s READ Initiative and continues his role as a special advisor to the READ Initiative moving forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mellway enjoyed a long career as a competitive athlete representing Canada with medal performances in Paralympics and World Championships in over three decades. He&nbsp;has also enjoyed a long career as a volunteer, serving persons with disabilities and recently completed a three year term on the Province of Ontario Accessibility Standards Advisory Committee\/Standards Development Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Boris Vukovic<\/strong><strong><br>\n<\/strong>Director, READ Initiative<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Email:&nbsp;<\/strong><a href=\"mailto:boris.vukovic@carleton.ca\">boris.vukovic@carleton.ca<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vukovic has worked at Carleton for more than 15 years supporting the success of students with disabilities \u2013 through leadership, direct student services, faculty development, applied research and professional standards. He has done research related to inclusive teaching practices of university faculty and disability-related assessments and has taught undergraduate and graduate courses. He is a member of the American Educational Research Association, Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
