I am proud that she will be joining our team, and I know that she will continue to inspire hope in others.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Manley&#8217;s interest in mental health advocacy comes from her own life experiences, and her strong belief in helping others. She relives her incredible personal journey with audiences, giving a behind-the-scenes glimpse into what it takes to make it to the top, and talks with honesty about the importance of mental health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;There might be that one person that&#8217;s suffering in silence right now, that maybe I might be that one voice to just say, &#8216;OK\u2014I&#8217;m safe, I can go for help; if Elizabeth Manley can do it, I can do it,'&#8221; she says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Manley has received many awards for her mental health advocacy, most recently receiving the &#8220;Courage to Speak Award&#8221; from MeWeRTH at Carleton&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.carleton.ca\/story\/breaking-barriers-mental-illness\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Psychology Mental Health Day<\/a> in October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>MeWeRTH<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>is composed of researchers, students and community partners with a shared interest in mental health, well-being and resilience.
