\n Carleton University and CAE Strike High-Tech Research Partnership\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

Carleton University, a leader in information and communications technology and high-tech company CAE have established a research partnership that will advance innovation, talent development and Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) in simulation and immersive environments, with a focus on advancing health technology, as well as other areas of common interest in science and engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The three-year partnership will see Carleton researchers and students collaborate with CAE researchers and engineers to develop state-of-the-art technology and applications related to health care, green technology, advanced learning management solutions, immersive environments, cybersecurity, modeling and simulation, as well as computational intelligence technologies for training and operations in the aerospace and health care sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCAE is proud to build on a longstanding collaborative relationship between CAE and Carleton University,\u2019\u2019 said France H\u00e9bert, CAE\u2019s Vice President, Defence and Security Canada.  \u201cOur partnership will contribute to enhanced learning, education, training and research collaborations on key technological, environmental and societal themes. As the pandemic has disrupted how we work and collaborate, we are ready to work on the next generation of solutions around these themes, which will be even more important in a post-pandemic world. For example, we aim to collaborate on developing new approaches to human-computer interaction and artificial intelligence to improve patient safety in healthcare as well as safety in aviation, enhance remote education and training techniques, and reduce the environmental impact of aviation. We are excited to work with Carleton to test these possibilities and make the world a safer place together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the course of the partnership, CAE and Carleton will establish joint research projects and fellowships, offer specialized training on CAE software and equipment, host guest lectures and workshops, and develop many other research and development initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The partnership will also offer an enhanced educational experience for Carleton undergraduate and graduate students. Information Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical and Engineering students will be able to access co-op placements and internships at CAE, where they will work on real-world applications for a broad variety of advanced technologies. The high profile of the partnership will help Carleton recruit top talent, both locally and internationally, and provide graduates with the technology skills and relevant experience needed for the workforce of the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CAE and Carleton will also work together to advance shared goals in equity, diversity and inclusion, including women in STEM and accessibility. CAE is a corporate sponsor of Carleton\u2019s new Women in Engineering and Information Technology program, which will provide learning and development opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate-level women within Carleton\u2019s wide range of engineering and information technology programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
