James Milner<\/strong>
\nProfessor, Department of Political Science at Carleton University<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Milner has been a researcher, practitioner and policy advisor on issues relating to the global refugee regime, global refugee policy, and the politics of asylum. His expertise spans refugees and forced migration, peacebuilding, United Nations and global governance, and humanitarian action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is specifically available to discuss the international response to the situation in Eastern Europe and the principles that need to guide this response. He is also available to discuss the recent announcement from the Government of Canada on special procedures for Ukrainians coming to Canada, and what this means in a historical context and for future responses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Milana Nikolko
\n<\/strong>Professor, Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies at Carleton University<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nikolko is an expert in post-Soviet ethnicity and diaspora. She has taught courses on nation-building, as well as nationalism and ethnic conflict in central and eastern Europe. Her research includes Russia-Ukraine relations, the Ukrainian crisis and minorities\u2019 politics in both countries; trauma and victimization in diasporas; social capital and diaspora networks; and post-Soviet diasporas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Agnieszka Weinar<\/strong>
\nProfessor, Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies at Carleton University<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weinar is involved in the scholar network in Poland and has been working on migration in Europe for 20 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weinar\u2019s research involves European migration policy and politics, Central and Eastern Europe societies, migration in Europe and Americas, migrant integration, diaspora and nationalism, mobility governance, including trade agreements; migration governance, justice and home affairs, and EU-Canada relations on these issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
