Jim Davies<\/strong>
\nProfessor, Institute of Cognitive Science and School of Computer Science at Carleton University<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Davies is available to discuss multitasking and forming habits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the Director of the Science of Imagination Laboratory, Davies explores computational modelling and artificial intelligence applied to human visual imagination. His work has shown how people use visual thinking to solve problems and how they visualize imagined situations and worlds. He is a frequent contributor to Nautilus<\/em> magazine and is author of Riveted: The Science of How Jokes Make Us Laugh, Movies Make Us Cry, and Religion Makes Us Feel One with the Universe<\/em>. He is a co-host of the Minding the Brain<\/em><\/a> podcast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andrea Howard<\/strong>
\n<\/strong>Professor, Department of Psychology at Carleton University<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Howard is available to discuss mental health and the transition to university. The first year of university is a significant time of transition as students navigate a broad range of new academic choices, expectations and social groups, and many students move away from home. These changes may present new challenges for previously well-functioning, high-achieving students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Howard\u2019s research primarily examines mental health, including depression and anxiety, and use of alcohol, cannabis, tobacco and other drugs during adolescence and into adulthood. She also interested in the challenges facing parents during this time, and the impact of social media use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marina Milyavskaya<\/strong>
\n<\/strong>Professor, Department of Psychology at Carleton University<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Milyavskaya is available to discuss motivation, perfectionism, goal setting, and healthy choices and routines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her research examines why some people and not others are successful in the pursuit of certain goals. Her work looks at the factors that promote the successful pursuit of goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
