\n Carleton recognized as top performer in 2022 Sustainable Campus Index\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

Carleton University has been recognized as a top performer in the 2022 Sustainable Campus Index<\/a>, achieving a top 10 ranking in the impact areas of Water and Wellbeing & Work. The recognition follows Carleton\u2019s Gold AASHE STARS assessment, which was achieved earlier this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCarleton is committed to being a leader in sustainability and we have strong engagement and collaboration across campus,\u201d says Carleton President Benoit-Antoine Bacon. \u201cThere is still a lot of work to be done, but we can collectively take pride in this important recognition of our achievements to date.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis recognition confirms that our holistic approach to sustainability at Carleton is on the mark,\u201d says Lorraine Dyke, Vice-President (Finance and Administration). \u201cThere is a lot to look forward to as our program grows to enhance sustainability.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCongratulations to Carleton University for their incredible sustainability accomplishments,\u201d said AASHE\u2019s Executive Director Meghan Fay Zahniser. \u201cUpon reading about the innovative and high-impact initiatives within this report, I\u2019m encouraged that the global sustainability transformation that we desperately need is, in fact, happening.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A publication from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), the Sustainable Campus Index recognizes top-performing sustainable colleges and universities overall and in 17 impact areas, as measured by the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System (STARS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
