Prime Minister Trudeau joined his North American counterparts this week for a meeting of continental leaders often referred to as the \u201cThree Amigos\u201d summit. Carleton experts are available to the media to discuss the summit\u2019s outcomes and issues and what the discussions might mean for North American relations in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MacDonald is available to discuss what the summit may mean for relations between the three countries going forward, lessons learned during the summit, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Macdonald has been researching and writing about Latin America and global political economy since 1983. She has expertise in the areas of Latin American politics, Mexican politics, North American politics, and Canadian foreign policy, as well as democracy and civil society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has published numerous articles in journals and edited collections on such issues as the role of non-governmental organizations in development, global civil society, citizenship struggles in Latin America, Canadian development assistance, and the political impact of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Macdonald is a regular media commentator on Latin American and North American political economy issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
