March 8 is International Women\u2019s Day and Carleton experts are available to speak on a variety of topics that relate to the 2023 theme of embracing equity.  <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bausch is trained as a feminist historian and interdisciplinary scholar whose research examines the intersections of masculinity, whiteness, and anti-Black racism in U.S. popular culture. She is available to discuss issues related to gender relations, feminism, and human inequalities.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Birk is an interdisciplinary scholar whose work centers the lived experience of racialized and Indigenous girls and women in Canada. Her research focuses on women\u2019s organizing, social justice and institutional racism using critical race, intersectional and decolonizing theories and methodologies. Bromwich is a professor in Carleton\u2019s Department of Law and Legal Studies and Manager of Diversity and Inclusion for the law firm Gowling WLG (Canada and Russia). She is available to discuss issues related to family and divorce law and prenuptial agreements, as well as feminist perspectives on women as mothers. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bujaki\u2019s <\/span>work has examined the careers of academic women and women accountants, with a focus on mental health and work. Haussman is a professor of political science and has been an active participant in women\u2019s campaigns for national office in the U.S. and Canada. Her new book, Walking the Gendered Tightrope: Nancy Pelosi and Theresa May as Legislative Leaders, will be published later this year. Haussman is available to discuss issues related to women\u2019s access to political power in North America and the tightropes on which women political leaders walk. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Horak is a professor of film studies and director of the Transgender Media Lab and Transgender Media Portal. She is co-curator of the 99-film Bluray set Cinema\u2019s First Nasty Women (Kino Lorber, 2022). Horak is available to speak about the history transgender and queer film and media in the United States, Canada, and Sweden. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
