Dominique Marshall<\/strong>

Marshall teaches courses on rethinking modern Canadian society. She has done significant research on the history of social policy, children\u2019s rights, humanitarian aid, refugees, disability and technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She writes about Canadian social policies and poor families and the history of OXFAM in Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lama Mourad<\/strong>

Mourad\u2019s research interests are focused on the intersection of forced migration, local governance, and the politics of borders, with a regional focus on the Middle East.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mourad teaches courses in the global governance of displacement and the policy and practice of human security. She is also happy to be contributing to some of the work at Carleton\u2019s Local Engagement Refugee Research Network (LERRN).<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her most recent book project examines the politics of local responses to the Syrian refugee influx in Lebanon, the largest per capita host of refugees in the world. For this research, she spent over 13 months travelling across Lebanon conducting interviews with a wide array of people impacted by the influx, including local elected leaders, NGO officials, Lebanese citizens, and Syrian refugees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
