As parliament returns, people across the country are still struggling with inflation, high interest rates, and a housing crisis. In addition, the government is facing challenging foreign affairs issues, involving NATO, military spending, Ukraine, China, foreign interference, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cohen is an author and journalist who has worked for a wire service as well as leading newspapers and magazines as a reporter, editor, editorial writer, columnist, and foreign correspondent. In his 37-year journalism career, he has written for Time, the Ottawa Citizen, and United Press International. He also wrote for the Financial Post and the Globe and Mail from Washington, London, Berlin, and Toronto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vivek Dehejia<\/strong>
\nProfessor, Department of Economics at Carleton University<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dehejia discussed inflation in front of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His fields of research include international trade, international economic development, and international macroeconomics. He is available to discuss how both the continuing inflation problem and high-interest rates that are creating an affordability issue may impact Trudeau, He can also speak to the repercussions of Trudeau’s recent overseas travel on how Canada is perceived abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ian Lee<\/strong>

Lee is happy to discuss housing issues, inflation, and interest rates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lee has appeared multiple times before the House of Commons and Senate finance, banking, industry and trade committees. He has been in every Government of Canada budget lockup since 2008. He attended pre-budget consultations with the Minister of Finance in 2009 and 2011. His work has appeared in the annual publication How Ottawa Spends concerning Canada\u2019s retirement system, the Parliamentary Budget Officer, deficits, corporate income reform and the Liberal downsizing of 1995-97 and the Conservative Government downsizing of 2010-15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stephen Saideman<\/strong>

Saideman is available to discuss NATO and defence issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saideman\u2019s research interests focus on the causes and consequences of intervention in intra-state conflicts. His current research deals with the role of legislatures in democratic civil-military relations. He teaches courses on contemporary international security, civil-military relations, and United States foreign and defence policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
