Every year, the Women\u2019s Executive Network (WXN) bestows the <\/span>Canada\u2019s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Awards<\/span><\/a> upon those who embody power through advocacy, championing others, and influencing meaningful change. This year, several accomplished alumni from Carleton University have earned well-deserved spots on this prestigious list.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anita Agrawal <\/strong>
\nMaster of Arts (Anthropology), 2010<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anita Agrawal, CEO of Best Bargains Jewellery\/Jewels 4 Ever, is recognized among the women who own and operate thriving businesses. A multi-award-winning jewelry manufacturer, Argawal is a four-time international design award recipient. She actively advocates for small businesses and ethical employment, contributing to organizations like the Better Way Alliance and OWIT-Toronto.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cheyenne Lakatos <\/strong>
\nBachelor of Humanities (Environmental Studies), 2014<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cheyenne Lakatos, a Locomotive Engineer at the Canadian National Railway Company CN, is recognized for her outstanding contributions to skilled trades, product and service innovation, and community involvement. A dedicated advocate for mental health and wellness, Lakatos initiated the Common Connections Program in Jasper, Alberta, which received the CN People’s Choice Award in 2022.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Atty (Atefeh) Mashatan <\/strong>
\nBachelor of Mathematics, 2002<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Atty Mashatan, Canada Research Chair and Associate Professor at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), is recognized as an executive leader who exemplifies what it means to be a great leader through championing others. Her expertise in cybersecurity led to her recognition as one of the Top 20 Women in Cybersecurity in Canada. She directs TMU\u2019s Cybersecurity Research Lab and is known for her significant contributions to advancing cybersecurity research and training qualified personnel in the field. In 2019, SC Magazine named her one of the top five Women of Influence in Security.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ima Okonny <\/strong>
\nBachelor of Science (Mathematics), 1998<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ima Okonny, Assistant Deputy Minister and Chief Data Officer at Employment and Social Development Canada, stands out as a seasoned executive and trailblazer in the data and analytics domain. With over 23 years of experience, Okonny is a highly sought-after voice on data, AI, and leadership.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tanya Rumble <\/strong>
\nMaster of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership, 2023<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tanya Rumble is recognized for her outstanding contributions to the community through her role as the Executive Director of Development in the Faculty of Arts at Toronto Metropolitan University. In addition to her academic position, she is co-founder of Recast Philanthropy, and has held leadership positions in organizations such as FindHelp Information Services and the Association of Fundraising Professionals Canada.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
