Andrea Chandler<\/strong>

Chandler’s particular areas of interest include: social welfare and politics in Russia; gender, identity and politics in Europe; comparative democratization and reform; and European politics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2017, she was awarded a Research Stay for University Academics and Scientists scholarship from the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service), which enabled her to visit Berlin, Germany in order to do research for her current project, titled \u201cCanada and Eastern Europe during the Cold War, 1945-1989: Politics of Democracy Promotion.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paul Goode<\/strong>
\nMcMillan Chair in Russian Studies, Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (EURUS) at Carleton University<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goode is available to discuss the domestic and foreign policy implications of the election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goode’s current research broadly focuses on nationalism and authoritarianism in Russia and the former Soviet states. He directs the project \u201cRussian Media Observation and Reporting (RuMOR)\u201d. He is editor-in-chief of the academic journal Communist and Post-Communist Studies<\/em> and serves on the editorial boards for Russian Politics, Nationalities Papers, Social Science Quarterly<\/em>, and the advisory board for Nations and Nationalism<\/em>. Previously he served as convenor of the Research Group on Nationalism, Populism and Radicalism at the University of Bath and was founding director of the Center for the Study of Nationalism and Coordinator for Russian and East European Studies at the University of Oklahoma. He also served on the international advisory board for the Department Development Partnership Program, European University at St. Petersburg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
