Hanika Rizo
\n<\/strong>Professor, Department of Earth Sciences at Carleton University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rizo is available to discuss the formation of the solar system, planetary formation, the age of our Sun, the birth of the Earth, and the formation of our Moon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leading a dedicated research group, Rizo\u2019s work addresses fundamental questions in the planetary sciences around topics such as the formation and evolution of planets, the timing and process of Earth\u2019s differentiation into a metallic core and a silicate rocky mantle, and the stabilization of continents along with the emergence of life. To accomplish these objectives, Rizo\u2019s team has pioneered mass spectrometry procedures. These techniques enable the identification of isotopic variations resulting from extinct radioactivities with increasing precision, offering valuable insights into planetary processes and early Earth\u2019s geological history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yue Zhang<\/strong>
\nProfessor, Department of Physics at Carleton University<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zhang obtained his PhD in theoretical physics from Peking University in 2009 and spent 2007-2009 as a visiting graduate student at the University of Maryland (College Park). Afterwards, he held postdoctoral research positions at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Trieste Italy (2009-2012), the California Institute of Technology (2013-2016), Northwestern University and Fermilab (2016-2019), before joining the Faculty of Science at Carleton University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
