David Carment<\/strong>

Carment is a series editor for Palgrave\u2019s Canada and International Affairs, editor of Canadian Foreign Policy Journal and fellow of the Canadian Global Affairs Institute. His research focuses on Canadian foreign policy, mediation and negotiation, fragile states and diaspora politics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is the author, editor or co-editor of 21 books and has authored or co-authored over 90 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. His most recent books focus on diaspora cooperation, corruption in Canada, branding Canadian foreign policy and state fragility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vivek Dehejia<\/strong>

Dehejia is available to discuss the upcoming budget as it relates to Canada\u2019s overall macroeconomic picture \u2013 GDP, productivity, unemployment, inflation, etc. Dehejia recently testified on these matters at the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His fields of research include international trade, international economic development and international macroeconomics. He is available to discuss how both the continuing inflation problem and high interest rates that are creating an affordability issue may impact Trudeau. He can also speak to Trudeau\u2019s recent overseas travel affecting how Canada is perceived abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Melissa Haussman<\/strong>
\nProfessor, Department of Political Science at Carleton University<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haussman, an American, teaches United States and comparative North American political science. She is a former legislative aide in the Massachusetts Legislature, elected town meeting member in Massachusetts and has worked on various U.S. election campaigns. She has published six books on comparative political institutions and policy in the U.S. and other countries and will be publishing a textbook on American politics with Stephen Brooks and Don Abelson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haussman regularly speaks to the media on topics related to American elections and politics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ian Lee<\/strong>

Lee has appeared multiple times before the House of Commons and Senate finance, banking, industry and trade committees. He has been in every Government of Canada budget lockup since 2008. He attended pre-budget consultations with the Minister of Finance in 2009 and 2011. His work has appeared in the annual publication, How Ottawa Spends, concerning Canada\u2019s retirement system, the Parliamentary Budget Officer, deficits, corporate income reform, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laura Macdonald<\/strong>

Macdonald has been researching and writing about Latin America and the global political economy since 1983. She has expertise in the areas of Latin American politics, Mexican politics, North American politics, and Canadian foreign policy, as well as democracy and civil society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has published on issues such as the role of non-governmental organizations in development, global civil society, citizenship struggles in Latin America, Canadian development assistance, and the political impact of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
