2016 OCSNRS Call for Abstracts Poster<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

**Le fran\u00e7ais suit**<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ottawa-Carleton Student Northern Research Symposium (OCSNRS) is an annual one-day event showcasing northern research currently conducted at the University of Ottawa and Carleton University by students in social and natural sciences, and the humanities. The OCSNRS provides an excellent opportunity for students to present their research, gain feedback and network. Poster and oral presentation formats are welcome in either French or English and can include preliminary analysis as well as publication-ready results. Undergraduate students, graduate students and recent graduates (since January 2015) from either institution are eligible for poster and oral presentations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, the University of Ottawa will be hosting the event on Thursday, February 25th<\/sup>, 2016. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The OCSNRS call for abstracts is now open. Please review the abstract submission guidelines below. The abstract submission deadline is Friday, January 29th<\/sup>, 2016.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abstract Submission Guidelines <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Submission deadline: Friday, January 29th<\/sup>, 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abstracts are welcome in French or English. Presentations may range from project proposals to publication-ready results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Northern research eligibility is defined as research taking place north of the Northern Scientific Training Program boundary: http:\/\/www.polarcom.gc.ca\/node\/181<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Submitted abstracts must include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. The names of all authors with the presenting author and institutional affiliation indicated;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. The student\u2019s department, program type (BA, BSc, MA, MSc, PhD, etc.) and supervisor\u2019s name;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. The presentation title;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Preference for an oral or a poster presentation; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. An abstract of 250 words maximum, which should include a brief introduction to your topic, research objectives, approach\/methods and key findings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Please submit your abstract as a word document to Jenna Joyce (jjoyc039@uottawa.ca<\/a>). Confirmation of receipt will be sent to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    L\u2019Appel des R\u00e9sum\u00e9s<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Le Symposium Ottawa-Carleton sur la recherche \u00e9tudiante dans le Nord (SOCREN) est un \u00e9v\u00e9nement annuel d’une journ\u00e9e qui met en vedette la recherche nordique men\u00e9e par les \u00e9tudiant(e)s de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 d\u2019Ottawa et l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Carleton en sciences sociales, naturelles et humaines. Le SOCREN est une excellente occasion pour les \u00e9tudiant(e)s de pr\u00e9senter leurs travaux de recherche, d’obtenir de la r\u00e9troaction et de profiter du r\u00e9seautage social. Les affiches et les pr\u00e9sentations orales sont les bienvenus en fran\u00e7ais ou en anglais et peuvent inclure l’analyse pr\u00e9liminaire ainsi que les r\u00e9sultats en publication. Les \u00e9tudiant(e)s au premier, deuxi\u00e8me et troisi\u00e8me cycle ainsi que les \u00e9tudiants qui ont r\u00e9cemment obtenu un dipl\u00f4me (depuis janvier 2015) \u00e0 partir des deux institutions sont invit\u00e9s \u00e0 soumettre une affiche ou une pr\u00e9sentation orale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Cette ann\u00e9e, l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e8nement se d\u00e9roule \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 d\u2019Ottawa le jeudi 25 f\u00e9vrier 2016<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
