Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any graduate or undergraduate student at the University of Ottawa or Carleton University whose research involves the north is welcome to present or attend. Students from any discipline are encouraged to participate, as long as their research involves the geographic north<\/a>. Posters and presentations may be in English or French.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Photo Contest<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will be hosting a photo contest for students who would like to showcase the beauty and uniqueness of northern landscapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who can participate?<\/u><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyone attending the symposium can participate. You don\u2019t have to be presenting to participate in the photo contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you have to submit, and when?<\/u><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please submit a high-resolution photo that you have taken in the geographic north<\/a>. Your photo can be of any subject \u2013 people, animals, plants, landscapes, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Send your photo to OCSNRS2018@gmail.com<\/a> with the subject line \u201cPhoto Contest\u201d. Please include a photo title and specify where the photo was taken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How will the winner be chosen?<\/u><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants and guests to the symposium can vote for their favourite photo during the day. The winner will receive his or her photo printed in large format and framed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le Symposium \u00c9tudiant sur les Recherches Nordiques des d\u2019Ottawa-Carleton (SERNOC)<\/strong> est une conf\u00e9rence annuelle d\u2019une journ\u00e9e qui rassemble les \u00e9tudiants de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 d\u2019Ottawa et de Carleton University qui participent aux \u00e9tudes nordiques. Il s\u2019agit d\u2019une opportunit\u00e9 pour les \u00e9tudiants de pr\u00e9senter leur recherche, faire du r\u00e9seautage et approfondir leur connaissance du Nord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SERNOC 2018 aura lieu \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 d\u2019Ottawa<\/strong> le 15 f\u00e9vrier<\/strong> 2018, \u00e9difice Desmarais (DMS), chambre 12102.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les \u00e9tudiants de 1er<\/sup> cycle, maitrise, ou doctorat de toutes disciplines confondues sont les bienvenus, tant que leur recherche concerne le nord g\u00e9ographique<\/a>. Les affiches et les pr\u00e9sentations peuvent \u00eatre en anglais ou en fran\u00e7ais.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Concours Photo<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un concours de photographie est organis\u00e9 dans le cadre du symposium pour exposer la beaut\u00e9 des paysages nordiques dans les photos d\u2019\u00e9tudiant(e)s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qui peut participer? <\/u><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tous ceux qui seront pr\u00e9sents lors du symposium. Vous n\u2019avez pas besoin de soumettre un r\u00e9sum\u00e9 pour une affiche ou une pr\u00e9sentation pour participer au concours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qu\u2019est-ce que vous devez soumettre et quand? <\/u><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Une photo de haute-r\u00e9solution qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 prise dans le le nord g\u00e9ographique<\/a>. Tous les types de photos sont accept\u00e9s, c.-\u00e0-d. personnes, faune, flore, paysages, etc. Envoyer votre photo avec un titre et l\u2019endroit o\u00f9 elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 prise \u00e0 OCSNRS2018@gmail.com<\/a> dans ou courriel s\u00e9par\u00e9 avec l\u2019objet  \u00ab Concours Photo \u00bb avant le 9 f\u00e9vrier 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comment sera choisi le gagnant? <\/u><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les participants au symposium pourront voter pour leur photo favorite durant la journ\u00e9e. Le ou la gagnant(e) recevra sa photo imprim\u00e9e et encadr\u00e9e en grand format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
