The 2023 OCSNRS was hosted by Carleton University on March 3, 2023<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Ottawa-Carleton Student Northern Research Symposium is an annual, one-day conference where students from Carleton University and the University of Ottawa connect, present their research, and learn from each other. We have accepted abstracts from undergraduate and graduate students from a wide variety of disciplines relevant to polar regions. Attached is the schedule for the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please fill out the following Google Form by February 23rd if you would like to attend this event held at Carleton University<\/b> at Nicol Building 3040<\/b> (or streamed virtually) on March 3rd<\/b> so we can anticipate numbers for catering: https:\/\/forms.gle\/exA2ZUESemeJZjQU7<\/a><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dear Students and Faculty,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ottawa-Carleton Student Northern Research Symposium (OCSNRS) is an annual, one-day conference that will be held on March 3, 2023.<\/b> It will provide an opportunity for students from Carleton University and the University of Ottawa to connect, present their research, and learn from each other. This year, OCSNRS will be hosted at Carleton University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are now accepting abstracts from undergraduate and graduate students of any discipline, provided that the research is relevant to the northern or southern polar regions. Presentations can be on projects of any stage, including project proposals and completed research. Both French and English abstracts are welcome. Please indicate in the Google form whether you will be presenting a talk or a poster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deadline to submit an abstract is January 31<\/s> February 5 <\/b>at 23:59<\/b> via https:\/\/forms.gle\/2J465T5wk8CGwsJr8<\/a>. <\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The keynote speaker this year is to be determined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will also be having a photo contest if you wish to participate \u2013 photos can be of any subject, provided it was taken in the geographic north or south. Participants in OCSNRS 2023 can submit photographs with their abstract submission in the Google Form provided above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Photo Contest<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will be hosting a photo contest for students who would like to showcase the beauty and uniqueness of northern landscapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who can participate?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyone attending the symposium can participate. You don\u2019t have to be presenting to participate in the photo contest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you have to submit, and when?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please submit a high-resolution photo that you have taken in the geographic north or southern polar regions. Your photo can be of any subject \u2013 people, animals, plants, landscapes, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Send your photo to https:\/\/forms.gle\/2J465T5wk8CGwsJr8<\/a> by January 31, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How will the winner be chosen?<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants and guests to the symposium can vote for their favourite photo during the day. The winner will receive his or her photo printed in large format and framed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le Symposium \u00c9tudiant de Recherche Nordique d’Ottawa-Carleton (SERNOC) est une conf\u00e9rence annuelle d’une journ\u00e9e qui aura lieu le 3 mars 2023. Il donnera l’occasion aux \u00e9tudiants de l’Universit\u00e9 Carleton et de l’Universit\u00e9 d’Ottawa de se rencontrer, de pr\u00e9senter leurs recherches, et d’apprendre les uns des autres. Cette ann\u00e9e, l’SERNOC aura lieu \u00e0 l’Universit\u00e9 Carleton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nous acceptons maintenant les r\u00e9sum\u00e9s des \u00e9tudiants de premier cycle et des cycles sup\u00e9rieurs de toute discipline, \u00e0 condition que la recherche soit pertinente pour les r\u00e9gions polaires nord ou sud. Les pr\u00e9sentations peuvent porter sur des projets \u00e0 n’importe quel stade, y compris des propositions de projets et des projets de recherche complets. Les r\u00e9sum\u00e9s en fran\u00e7ais et en anglais sont les bienvenus. Veuillez indiquer dans le formulaire Google si vous comptez pr\u00e9senter un expos\u00e9 ou un poster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
