This event is open to undergraduate and graduate students conducting research in the Arctic, Subarctic, or Antarctic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference aims to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Offer students the opportunity to present their research and ideas in a supportive and<br><br>inclusive environment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facilitate scholarly communication among students and faculty.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ottawa Carleton Student Northern Research Symposium was held on March 18 at the Learning Crossroads Building (CRX) rooms 220 &amp; 230<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you are planning on attending the conference in person, please RSVP using this form: <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/41jackCbbHw6su4QA\">https:\/\/forms.gle\/41jackCbbHw6su4QA<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The conference presentations will be available for remote viewing. Access with this link: <a href=\"https:\/\/uottawa-ca.zoom.us\/j\/6132651817\">https:\/\/uottawa-ca.zoom.us\/j\/6132651817<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dr. Kyra St. Pierre, Assistant Prof. in the UOttawa Dept. of Earth and Environmental Sciences, will be giving the keynote presentation titled From Peak to Sea: Impacts of Changing Arctic Headwaters on Downstream Ecosystems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Below is a poster and schedule for the conference:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/northernresearch\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/208\/OCSNRS-2024-poster-schedule.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:750px\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are calling for abstract submissions from students interested in presenting. Case studies, philosophical pieces, literature reviews, conceptual development papers, or completed empirical studies pieces are all appropriate topics for the presentation. Unique presentations not using traditional formats (see above) are also welcome. Each presentation will be limited to ten (10) minutes, followed by a five (5) minute discussion\/question period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference took place on <strong>March 18, 2024<\/strong> at the University of Ottawa in <strong>rooms CRX 220 and 230<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The abstract should clearly explain your presentation in a maximum of <strong>200 words<\/strong> (not including references).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The abstract should be submitted <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSe2XV3Lf3m9-2Pa6Aqohan40K25qcO_DbIYyhPvxovTDYw7uA\/viewform?usp=pp_url\">online<\/a> no later than <strong>February 9, 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, each abstract submission via google form should also include 3-4 keywords that define your research.
