Polar Knowledge Canada<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Polar Knowledge Canada support students through a variety of scholarships.  Applications are due on December 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polar Knowledge Canada Scholarship<\/a> – The Polar Knowledge Canada Scholarship is a prize of $10,000 awarded to outstanding doctoral students in polar studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

POLAR Antarctic Scholarship<\/a> – POLAR offers scholarships, valued at $10,000, to outstanding Canadian students enrolled in a post-secondary graduate program (PhD or Master’s) engaged in Antarctic research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

POLAR Northern Resident Award<\/a> – POLAR offers awards of $5,000 to outstanding northern Canadian students enrolled in a post-secondary undergraduate program at a Canadian college or university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

POLAR Northern Resident Scholarship <\/a>– POLAR offers scholarships of $10,000 to outstanding northern Canadian students enrolled in a post-secondary graduate program (PhD or Master\u2019s) at a Canadian university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note that these scholarships are distinct from Northern Scientific Training Program (NSTP)<\/a> and have a separate deadline.  For an overview on NSTP and links to official information, please look over the resources here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Weston Family Awards in Northern Research<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Weston Family supports a number of awards for graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and achievement awards in northern science. Scholarship Partners Canada at Universities Canada<\/a> administers the application process and disbursement of these awards.  Please refer to www.westonfamilyawards.ca<\/a> for more information, including an FAQ page.  The application deadline is in January<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ACUNS Awards<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Canadian Northern Studies Trust at the Association of Canadian Universities for Northern Studies (ACUNS) manages several awards and scholarships for students.  Please refer to the ACUNS website<\/a> for more information.  The application deadlines are at the end of January.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carleton University Graduate Student Travel\/Research Bursary<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs (FGPA) at Carleton provides funds to students in financial need who require assistance to conduct or present their research. The fund may cover a portion of the cost related to field travel and supplies, communications, and publications. It may also cover costs related to presenting a paper or poster at a scholarly conference.   Please refer to the Internal Awards<\/a> section of the FGPA website for more information and application forms.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
