\n Call for NSTP applications and reports – due Nov 1\n <\/h1>\n \n \n <\/header>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n

Dear cuNorth community,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have recently received the 2017\/2018 call for NSTP (Northern Scientific Training Program) proposals and associated manual and instructions.  I am happy to announce that the cuNorth website (http:\/\/carleton.ca\/northernresearch\/<\/a>) has been updated with all relevant materials and deadlines for this upcoming round of applications and reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NSTP provides research grants to students in the social sciences, humanities, and natural sciences to help offset the costs of conducting research in the North. Only Canadian citizens or permanent residents are eligible to apply and you must be working on an undergraduate or graduate thesis in a degree program at a recognized Canadian University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you received NSTP funding in the 2016\/17 fiscal year, you are required to submit a report on your research progress, and to account for your use of NSTP funds, by November 1, 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you wish to apply for NSTP funding for the 2017\/18 fiscal year, new applications and draft field safety forms are due by November 1, 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newly updated sections of the cuNorth website provide all the relevant instructions and forms to help you:
\n– Report on NSTP funds (http:\/\/carleton.ca\/northernresearch\/nstp\/reports\/<\/a>)
\n– Apply for NSTP funds (http:\/\/carleton.ca\/northernresearch\/nstp\/apps\/<\/a>)
\n– complete the appropriate field safety form (http:\/\/carleton.ca\/northernresearch\/safety\/field-safety-form\/<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other details will be added as they become available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students and supervisors are encouraged to work together in completing NSTP reports and applications, and to contact me with any questions well in advance of the November 1, 2016 submission deadline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
